DO NOT GO!!! My wife and I just left we entered at 7:30 pm on 04-13 and ordered a blt, an open faced roast beef sandwich, fried pickles, and drinks. A meal that with taxes and a $5 credit card fee would’ve totaled $40 rounded up! Not counting the tip. We were charged $56.41. We gave a $3 tip because of the outrageous price. The man who tallied it up had the bill with the price without taxes added extra for whatever reason. He should be fired and if he is the owner is STEALING! I will not go back and will let everyone I know not to go either. AGAIN DO NOT GO!!!

I've been going here my entire life and have never had a bad experience. Stepping in this restaurant is like going back to a time when everything was less stressful. The food is always delicious and the servers are always kind.

This has a definite old truck stop diner feel here. The food is fresh and delicious. I had breakfast and it hit the spot. The service was on point. there's nothing bad to say about lone star ⭐. The food didn't take long to come after the order was in. Everyone was friendly with a smile.

We found this great restaurant kind of by accident when heading to Livingston. The place was really packed. The food was great. We waited for fresh biscuits to be made, well worth the wait. Great service too. We will definitely be going back there in the near future.

7:30 on a Sunday night...couple a few patrons eating.Seem to be locals.Waitress was very pleasant & was Spot On w/ the service. She was pleasant and Talkative. ( not too much)Food was pretty much up to pare w/ a Small Town " Greasy Fork"LOTS of Fried Things.I ordered Chicken Fried Steak.Not very tasty.Ample sized dinner salad. Baked Potato was wellll,,, was a "Baked Potato"Anyhow,, it's not a "Five Star" but I REALLY appreciate the fact that there wasn't music playing (too loud) from the kitchen...I left 25% tip

We stopped here for breakfast. The service was great - fast and they kept our coffee cups full. The food was good and delivered quickly, which is always appreciated when you're traveling. Plus all of the staff was very friendly. We will definitely stop here again

Friendly diner, Miss Gail waitress was friendly and kept our tea glasses full.grilled chicken salad, basic iceberg lettuce, cheese, cherry tomatoes, and boiled egg. French fries were hot and good. Kids chicken n fries was really good. Hubby had a burger said it was good.Womens bathroom very clean. Everytime we went to bathroom they were being cleaned. I just wished there was a sign out stating someone was cleaning.We went on a non busy time Fri@4pm.They have daily lunch specials from 11-5pm.We had peach cobbler and ice-cream for dessert, yum yummy.Parking is tight.

We're here on a quiet vacation and this was the perfect place as it's not busy and it's super quiet. I had the catfish and fries with hush puppies. It was nice and hot and crispy but a tad bit bland. I enjoyed it with the tarter and ketchup though. The fries were yummy. The kids enjoyed their burger and fries.

This is exactly the type of diner I’m looking for when I’m exploring small towns. True family atmosphere, friendly service, and their breakfast tastes like your grandma made it. Make sure you have some of the biscuits and gravy. Simply delicious!

I recently visited Lone Star Charlie’s twice in one week, and both times had great food and service. I had breakfast each time, but had different things both times. Their French toast is really good- some of the best I have ever had. I had two different waitresses, both polite, professional and friendly. Worth the visit- at least for breakfast.

We ordered 4 burgers and the burger was BURNT. They were so burnt that the meat was crispy. We sent them back and ended up waiting a total of 1.5 hours for burgers. No discount offered, just an apology and new burgers cooked. The second set of burgers were delicious, but not worth the wait or the money.

Not sure what happened this time. Service was slow and lacked on the come back to check if you need more coffee. Pancakes a bit chewy not like the first time we came they melted in your mouth. Overall I still ate my entire breakfast. Stomach was satisfied.

The best breakfast, the best service!We have tried ALL the breakfast spots in the area and this is hands-down the best. Superb food, well prepared and a wonderful variety of breakfast options - and breakfast is served all day! As someone who loves a brunch late morning or early afternoon, I’m so happy that we can come to Charlie’s any time of the day and have the full breakfast option open to us. Staff are super friendly and you can’t beat the prices.We are loyal repeat customers of this establishment and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Bigger than you'd expect on the inside; lots of seating and clean. We came for breakfast and the food was great! Prices are cheaper or comparable to Denny's.Our waitress was also personable, but we waited over 40mins for our food. We're both average size adults yet it was difficult getting in and out of the booth because the chairs were so close to the table. Parking was also kind of a mess, but that's more to do with clueless drivers.

Wow! Great breakfast here. Everything was cooked just right and the servings were generous. The coffee was so good!! The waitstaff were friendly and took good care of us. The food was amazing, we came here today, on Mother’s Day for dinner and it was amazing. We had the Texas mans breakfast as they serve breakfast all day and honestly they give out big portions of the meal and it tastes better than IHOP. The stuffed jalapeños were also amazing(highly recommend for an appetizer) as well. Our waitress that had served us was very sweet and friendly, as well as considerate (she asked us if we wanted a refill on our lemonade and poured it for us). We will definitely come here again. Highly highly recommend this diner.

Found this place while traveling with a group of (hungry) college students! The place was charming, the waitress and staff were all friendly and kind, and the food was not only delicious - the portions were huge! My only complaint is that I don't live closer to it so I can visit more often. Thanks for a great experience!

Great little place to stop and get a quick dinner style breakfast or lunch. We stopped in the morning and had a huge breakfast. The staff is welcoming friendly. The server was attentive and a nice. The restrooms needed to be cleaned but overall the restaurant was clean. The food was tasty well and made. The bacon what is the perfect amount of crispy with a little chew. The locals all had a rapport with the staff. As you can hear their ongoing conversation and the regulars knew what they wanted as they walked in. Worth of something for passing through.

I regretfully only tried this place for the first time a couple weeks ago. I have been missing out for two years! The food was absolutely delicious. The only place I've ever been to serve fried zucchini. I love zucchini and not a lot of restaurants offer any dishes with it. It was amazing. The breading was crisp and the squash soft but not mushy. My husband is a picky egg eater, they must be over medium- white done, but yellow runny. He doesn't salt and pepper his eggs at restaurants until he tastes them to make sure the whites are done enough. But he did on these, he said he didn't have to taste them, they were literally perfect. I don't even like mine over medium, but they were beautiful! The best fried eggs he has had in any other local restaurant ever. I got the healthy choice omelet and added bacon. Again, perfection. You can tell the cook cares about the food they're serving, it's like a home cooked meal at Grandma's house. Y'all stole our hearts and our stomachs. We will definitely be back.

Having to change my 1st review of 5 stars.Been going here for several years now. The last visit, I ordered an open beef sandwich. When it came to the table the beef was opalescent, with hints of green, blue, etc. I asked for the waitress to look at it and she acted surprised. She took the plate to show the owner and then came back to say they were taking the price off our bill and at that same time, took the uneaten plate to the kitchen. When my husband finished we went to pay and they still charged for the "beef" meal and the owner stated there was nothing wrong with the meat that he cooked it himself and said it is supposed to look like that. We were very upset, especially since I didn't get anything to eat. They lost us as customers. We will never go back.

Just by chance dropped into this time warp of a by gone era, wood panel walls and all. Clean restaurant with very friendly service. The Club sandwich is everything a club should be, nothing fancy just a perfect sandwich. Steak fingers were fork tender and seasoned well.

FANTASTIC restaurant & they have semi parking next door.
